About

My name is Dave Gilligan, I live and work in the City of Limerick in the Republic of Ireland.

Pygment is a my on-line box of ideas and experiences, some of the photos contain concepts that I would like to revisit and expand on, while others are purely pleasing to my eye (and hopefully yours)

I started taking photos when I was 17 (so I’ve been at it half my life), although there was a fallow period in between where I was developing my design skills and working on other projects, but in the past 4-5 years it has been my main creative outlet outside of my day job (Design Manager for a technology company).

A lot of my work you see on the site is sans people but I have done three weddings in the last year and I feel that I have learned a lot from the experience, like never trust the Irish weather and people blink a lot!

I’m available for weddings, please send me a mail if your interested and we can discuss it, as a graphic design with 12 years experience in the field I can also design your wedding invitations.

This blog is powered by Wordpress using a modified Grain template. Some of the features of the site are not functioning correctly at the moment, (my PHP skills are getting better), I hope to have all the features working correctly soon….

My photos have been used all over the world for various different purposes including the most notable was an inclusion in the March 2008 issue of the New Yorker Magazine.

If you would like prints of any of my photos then please drop me a line dave.gilligan at gmail.com
